reclaiming your space
Traditional Decluttering
This is: the removal of items from your home and reorganization of your remaining items.
Reclaiming your space is taking an active role in ensuring that everything around you has both a function and reflects your personal style.
As we transition through phases of life, our items reflect the myriad demands, passions, and hobbies of each stage. We often acquire items that have monetary worth but are no longer of practical use. And then that sense of fiduciary or emotional obligation creates an artificial requirement to warehouse these items.

Dostadning
This is: mentally and physically surveying your home and distilling your items into essential items only.
Despite it's emotion stirring name, the act and art of dostadning is a beautiful gift to yourself. Dostadning is the practice of parsing through your items and selecting gifts for those around you. Whether through family or via donation, it's the process of determining that you have completed your journey with many of your loved possessions and you are looking to tailor your environment to it's most essential necessities.
Dostadning is not preparation for death. Instead it is reviewing your life through your possessions and deciding that the time to let them go is during the living season.
